About

Upfilm Productions, a film production company based in Ontario, Canada, was established in 2006. Known for its high-quality productions and visually stunning films, Upfilm is committed to telling diverse and compelling stories that highlight BIPOC perspectives.

 

Their feature documentary Ketchup & Soya Sauce was broadcast on CBC and GEM in 2019, bringing its engaging narrative to a wide audience. The film earned a nomination for Best Feature Film at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival and received the Award of Excellence at the Accolade Competition, showcasing the company’s dedication to impactful storytelling and excellent cinematography.

In 2024, Upfilm celebrated further success with The Teacup, a short fiction that won the Golden Sheaf Award at the Yorkton Film Festival, Best International Short at the Rock the Shorts Film Festival in Los Angeles, and the Silver Remi Award at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

 

Looking ahead, Upfilm Productions is developing Chloe's Still Here, a feature fiction that promises to continue their mission of amplifying diverse voices and delivering visually captivating narratives in independent filmmaking.

In the wake of her daughter Chloe's mysterious death, grieving mother Amy embarks on a harrowing journey through a world of secrets and shattered illusions, unraveling both Chloe's enigmatic past as a gifted Chinese international student in Toronto and the haunting specter of her own narcissistic upbringing.
